So, first off, the Sunday line-up is now complete with the addition of one-man-band extraordinaire, White Town. Yes, so you might remember them from their 1997 No.1 ‘Your Woman’ – but Jyoti Mishra isn’t all about that, you know. He’s written some rather wonderful indiepop songs and has charmed and delighted audiences in Sweden (particularly) in the last few years. We are ever so happy he’s agreed to play!
The complete line-up for Sunday is now on the bands+schedule page and it looks awesome. Tickets are limited for this and you can buy them for only £6 here (unless, of course, you have a popfest pass).
As for Saturday, the mighty mighty Plouf! (albeit version 2.0) have been added to the line-up of our all-dayer. They are now a duo consisting of tonieee (formerly of Velodrome 2000 and The Parallelograms – can you tell that it’s the same person behind all these websites…?) and Elodie, and this is going to be their first show as v.2.0 which is rather exciting. Plouf!
We’re nearly there. I could do with a drink now.

Rejoice! Humousexual are to play the Sunday of the Popfest, along with Horse Shoes and Leaving Mornington Crescent (and one more to be announced). We love this band: they are London’s answer to Rough Bunnies and the Receptionists, only with boys. They are one of our most precious hidden gems but, in this case, it’ll be a brilliant day when everyone discovers them. You can listen to pretty much everything they’ve ever released on this here website. Awesome.
Tickets for Saturday and Sunday are limited and are going very fast, so if you haven’t got a popfest pass, please buy them here: http://www.wegottickets.com/f/1236

Sunday Sunday Sunday! Sorry it took us a bit longer than usual to announce the details for Sunday. We had some technical difficulties, yeah.
So anyway, great great news: there will four bands playing on the last day of the popfest (28 Feb) at the Lexington and we can confirm two of them today. It will be the amazing Field Mice obsessives Horse Shoes from New York (they had their debut EP out last year on Shelflife and it’s beautiful – Jacob from the band also plays in The Drums) and Sweden’s new indiepop wonder boy/girl duo Leaving Mornington Crescent. Yay!
The Sunday show will be an early one. Doors upstairs at the Lexington will be at 3pm (there will be stuff happening downstairs earlier as well!) and it will all have finished by 7pm. A nice and easy end to a long week of pop!
Tickets for this show are now available for £6 from: http://www.wegottickets.com/f/1236. If you haven’t got a popfest pass, please get yours soon because the availability is limited!

Happy new year, all! We have some lovely news for you. First of all, the popfest is now next month. NEXT MONTH! Also, we have two more bands to announce and my hands are shaking with excitement a little bit.
On Thursday at Cafe Oto, along with Rose Melberg and The Pines, we have *drum roll*… Withered Hand! It’ll be a solo performance by Dan and we are completely overwhelmed he agreed to come all the way down from Edinburgh for this because we love him and we think of him as a little bit God-like. His first album, Good News, which came out on SL Records late last year, is incredible and you should all listen to it immediately.
Ooh, and then, right. The amazing Garlands from Sweden are going to be playing their first ever gig outside of Sweden (and second ever gig) on the Friday of the London Popfest, at the Buffalo Bar. Eeeeee! The Garlands (who have just put out a split 7″ single on Atomic Beat Records) are the brain child of Roger Gunnarsson (Nixon, Free Loan Investments, The Happy Birthdays, Cloetta Paris) – and although Roger doesn’t like playing live these days, his brother and friends of his, along with singer Christin, have decided to form a live band to perform the songs. So the live version of The Garlands is a true Swedish indiepop supergroup, with members of Strawberry Fair, Action Biker, Le Futur Pompiste, Hormones in Abundance, Ring Snuten, Eisenhower and Kissing Mirrors. Woah!
Please remember that both those nights are for season ticket holders only and there are only a handful of season tickets left (less than 10!). Act fast! The tickets for our Saturday all-dayer at the 100 Club are selling really fast too so if you’re planning to go to that, please visit this page and get your ticket soon: http://www.wegottickets.com/f/1236
